Listen in as we discuss the not-to-be-missed moments of the festival, which kicked off earlier today.
News Items of the Week
- PICNIC ’07, an annual cross-media conference taking place in Amsterdam, will kick off this week on the 25th. Last year’s conference included presentations on ARGs, and this year is no different, as ARGs are one of components of Friday’s PLAY component. ARGNet is an official media partner of PICNIC ’07 and will have special coverage of the event.
- silverladder.com is a new mysterious site which has people buzzing. The site includes various references to Alice In Wonderland and alludes to November 11 as being a date when all wlll be revealed. The game also utilizes the social engineering web site myspace, so look for some live interaction as well.
- Dunder Mifflin Infinity players received some content through email this week, and while not much is happening with the game yet, some regional managers have had to switch to different branches, with the reasons behind the move unknown. Speculation is that some regional branches are filling up, forcing NBC to create new locations to meet the demand for play spaces. In any case, now is the time to join, as things look to heat up with the Season 4 premiere this coming Thursday.
- Another alternate reality game may have been discovered at the ominous-sounding itscoming.us. Discussion at the Unforums is split between whether this will be an ARG to look out for or simply a one-way viral marketing blitz.

That silverladder thing really seems interesting. Something about it comes across different from the other ARGs I’ve run across. I can’t put my finger on what it is though.
